Kenneth Walter Welch, 60, of Clayton, GA., died Thursday July 30, 2008 at Mountain Lakes Medical Center.
He was born November 16, 1947 in Rabun County to the late Bill and Irene McCloud Welch and the husband of Gerri Welch. He was a member of the Battle Branch Baptist Church, a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was building contractor.
He is survived by his wife Gerri Welch of the home; two daughters- Kimberely Irene Welch and Angela Marie (Welch) Cash; two brothers- Beadie Welch and Red Welch both of Clayton; four sisters- Elisa Eller of Cartersville, GA., Frankie Mae Welch, Sara Jean Harrison and Cynthia Welch all of Clayton, GA. two grandchildren- Marie Cash and James Cash; one foster grandchild- Jamie Gracias. He was preceded in death by three brothers- J.B. Welch and Billy Wayne and F.D Welch and one sister- Marie Woods.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 2, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Battle Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Madison McCrackin officiating. Burial will follow in Welch Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday August 1, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM. The body will be placed in the church to lie in state at 12:00. The family is at their respective residents.
