Kenneth Rogers Henry, SR 75, Mountain City


Kenneth Rogers Henry, Sr., 75, of Mountain City, GA, widower of Anna Lee Chappell Henry, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at his residence.
Born April 1, 1935 in Macon County, North Carolina he was a son of the late Oliver Raymond and Ruby Carpenter Henry. He had lived most of his life in Rabun County. He was a Plumber and an Electrician by trade, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Rabun County Chapter of the D.A.V. and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Shelia Payne of Wiley, GA; Donna Jones of Mountain City, GA and Jane Henry of the home; three brothers, Jimmy Henry of Mt. City, GA, Paul Henry of Valley, Alabama, and Tim Henry of Eastanollee, GA; five sisters, Lucille Blanton of Goose Creek, SC, Jane McCall of West Union, SC, Martha Nichols of Tamassee, SC, Linda Hopkins of Lakemont, GA and Louise Phillips of Clayton, GA. seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by a son Roger Henry; and a brother Freddie Henry.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at 1 PM from the Chapel of the Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Ashe officiating. Burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery in Clayton.
The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 9 PM Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Hunter Funeral Home.
The family is at the home on Colchester Lane in Mountain City.
