Katherine Kilby

Katherine Queen Kilby, 71 of Mountain City, Georgia., died Tuesday July 25, 2017 in Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, Georgia. She was the wife of Johnny Q. Kilby.

She was born in Rabun County October 16 1945 and lived her entire life here. She was the daughter of the late Paul Queen, Sr., and Leona Redden Queen. Katherine was a homemaker and a member of the Clayton Christian Church at Mountain City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Leona Redden Queen, by three brothers, Paul Queen, Jr., and Calvin (Porky) Queen Chester Queen and by two sisters, Martha Lee., Vassie Harkins Worley and is survived by her husband of 52 years Johnny Q Kilby of the home; two brothers Hudson Queen of Clayton, GA., and Charles Queen of Mountain City, GA., by three sisters, Patsy O’Shields of New York, Barbara Taylor (Ellis) of Rabun Gap, and Juanita Queen of Clayton, GA. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

Funeral Services will be Saturday July 29, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Canny and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. The body will be cremated following the service.

Visitation will be in the Eastside Chapel Saturday July 29, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. (The funeral hour). Family asks in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made, in her memory, to the American Cancer Society.
