Kate Sitton Worley, 92, Clayton, Georgia


Kate Sitton Worley, 92, of Lakemont, Georgia, died Wednesday June 1, 2011 at cannonwood Village in Tiger, Georgia.
Born in Almond (Swain County) North Carolina, October 31, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Lillie Dehart Sitton. She was the widow of Fred A. Worley. Mrs. Worley was a retired public school teacher with the Rabun County School System. She taught school for 31, years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Tallulah Falls United Methodist Church. She was an honorary member of the Lakemont- Wiley fire department Station 4 for many years. She worked many years with the Lake Rabun Association Flea Market to help support the fire department.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Hazel Cochran, Ethel Allen and Grace Cook, and by two brothers, Jack Sitton and John Sitton. And is survived by her nephew, David Sitton and by nieces, Dolores Sitton Sears, Rita Sitton Campbell, Jackie Sitton Nickelsen, Jean White, and Helen Cochran, And by several cousins and two special friends, Barbara Gray and Sarah Wallace.
Funeral services will be Monday June 6, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. James E. Turpen officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 P.M. at the Maple Springs cemetery in Bryson City, North Carolina.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home. There will be no formal visitation, but friends may visit the funeral home and sign the guest book between 3:30 P.M. Sunday and 9:30 A.M. Monday June 6, 2011.
The family is at their respective residences. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Tallulah Falls United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 100, Tallulah falls, GA. 30573.
