Karen “Gail” Hunt Speed, age 65, of Clayton, GA passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023.

Gail was born on August 15, 1958, and was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Bernice (Hooper) Hunt. Gail, a retired medical laboratory technician, had a passion for history, astronomy, and nature. She was an active member of Clayton First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Amanda Gail Proulx (Lars) of Canada; one step-son Lucas Jasper Speed (Nacoma); one granddaughter, Katilyn Stolp; one step-grandson, Caleb Speed, and one sister, Kathryn Roberts (Joe) of Tiger, GA.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, John Stolp.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Clayton First UMC's Family Life Center. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the service hour. A reception will follow the service.
