Julie Ann Mason Chastain 82, Rabun Gap
Julie Ann Mason Chastain, 82, of Rabun Gap, Georgia, widow of Jeff Wesley Chastain, died Wednesday January 9, 2008 in the Mountain View Health Care Center.
Born May 21, 1925 in Macon County, North Carolina she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Ida Hastings Mason. She was employed in the textile industry as a seamstress and was a member of the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law; Tommy and Emma Chastain of Rabun Gap, GA. a daughter and son-in-law; Pat and Richard Bennett of Watkinsville, GA., two brothers; Frank Mason and Wymer Mason both of Franklin, NC, one sister; Sarah Keener of Clayton, GA, four grandchildren; Wesley Chastain of Clayton, Joseph Chastain of Rabun Gap, GA, Stacey McKinney of Hendersonville, NC, Crystal Baker of Athens, GA, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by brothers; Earl, Woodrow and Bud Mason.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday January 11, 2008 from the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Dailey and Rev. W. A. Trotman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Doug Porter officiating at the graveside.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be placed in the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Thursday January 10, 2008 where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Thursday January 10, 2008.
The family is at the home of her son and daughter-in-law Tommy and Emma Chastain, Meadowbrook Lane, in Rabun Gap, GA.
