Joseph Reid Jones 66, of North Valley Street Clayton, Georgia, died at his residence Thursday morning April 14, 2011
Born in Rabun County May 17, 1944, He was the son of the late Joe and Ruth Lovell Jones. He was employed in the construction industry for many years.He was a U.S. Marine Corps. veteran of Vietnam, and was of the Baptist Faith. He was twice married – first to the late Elaine Bradley, and later to Tina Partrige.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Jones and Calvin Sutton and by a sister, Louise Carter.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Jones of Clayton. One son, Stacy Jones of Clayton, GA, two brothers; Larry Jones of Mountain City, GA, and Thomas Sutton of Clayton, GA, two sisters, Nancy Sutton Woddall of Mountain City, GA and Lena Henslee of Atlanta, GA, two grandchildren, Emily Jones and Elizabeth Tollison. Also a great grandson, Damion Williams.
Funeral Services will be at 1: 00 P.M. Saturday April 16, 2011 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Burrell officiating.
Burial will follow in the Taylor’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Friday night April 15, 2010 from 6 To 8 P.M.
The family is at the home of his brother, Thomas Sutton on Dunlap Street in Clayton.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
