Johnny Stancil

John Henry Stancil, Jr. “Johnny” of Clayton, GA, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022.

He was born on March 7, 1945, to the late John Stancil Sr. and Flurie Shook Stancil. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Sheffield Stancil.

Johnny retired from Duke Power as a pipe fitter and welder; and after retirement he became a self-employed truck driver, and he was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Smith (Roger) of Salem, SC; two sons, Stacy Stancil, and David Stancil both of Seneca, SC; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Eastwood of Jacksonville, FL.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at 2:00 pm in the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Burrell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Rabun Memory Park.
