Johnnie Hunt 90, Clayton, GA


Johnnie Hunt, 90, of Clayton, died October 26, 2012 at his residence.
He was born October 2, 1922 in Clayton to the late Charley and Lona Addis Hunt. He was the widower of Bernice Hooper Hunt. Johnnie was retired from the Georgia Game and Fish Commission and was a member of Clayton Presbyterian Church. He was a US Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister Ruby Lee Stepp. He is survived by two daughters Kathryn Roberts (Joe) of Tiger and Gail Speed of Clayton, five grandchildren: Erin Scott (Johnny), Karina Blackwell (Tony), Chris Davenport (Lupe), John Stolp and Amanda Speed, eight great-grandchildren: Chris and Alex Baker, Ethan Scott, Eden and Zeb Blackwell, Leiloni and Dylan Davenport, Katilyn Stolp, and two sisters Beulah York of Cornelia and Irene Hunt of Clarkesville. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, October 29 at the Clayton Presbyterian Church with Rev. Wendel Craker and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will be in the Persimmon Cemetery. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 9 PM, Sunday, October 28. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 Monday to lie in state. The family is at the home on Scott’s Creek Lane, Clayton.
