John Welch

John Welch Jr, age 76, of Clayton, GA passed away Monday, June 20, 2022.

Born on May 26, 1946, he is the son of the late John Welch and Nellie Webb Welch. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Carolyn Wines Welch.

For more than 20 years, John owned John’s Gun and Pawn. He was of the Baptist faith. John was a devoted husband, father, and friend who cherished every moment he could spend with them. He proudly served in the United States Army.

In addition to his wife Carolyn, he is survived by two sons, Faron Welch and wife Susan, and Anthony Welch and wife Denise; five grandchildren, Jennifer Welch, April Adcock and husband David, Kelsey Thompson and husband Scott, Sarah Collins and husband Hunter, and Abby Welch; one sister, Molly Henslee; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

He is preceded by his siblings, Jane Johnson, Thee Welch, Genelia Welch, Nana Lee Welch, Florence Jones, and Lon Welch.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Blue Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Cannon officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 pm one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Blue Heights Baptist Church in c/o John Welch Jr. 173 Shepherd St, Clayton, GA 30525.
