John L, Scott, 60, of Clayton, Ga. known to his family and Friends as (Johnny) died Tuesday June 9, 2009 in Mountain Lakes Medical Center in Clayton, Ga.
Born in Franklin County, Ga. January 14, 1949, he was the son of the late Edward and Annie Mae Cherry Scott. He was a Rock and Brick Mason in the construction Industry. He was a Baptist by Faith and attended the Ivy Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Aaron and James Scott and by three sisters, Jimmie Lou Singleton, Mary Jo Scott and Eula Mae Scott.
He is survived by his wife Janie Mance Scott of the home. Two sons and their wives Johnny and Erin Scott and William and Michelle Scott of Clayton, Ga. Two brothers, David Scott of Toccoa, Ga. and Randy Scott of Orlando, Fl. Four sisters Gazelle Arthur and Mary Scott both of Toccoa Ga. Genell Savarie and Patsy Scott, both of Brooklin, Ny. Four grandchildren, Christopher Scott and Ethan Scott , Chris Baker And Alexander Baker all of Clayton, Ga. Several Nephews, Nieces and Cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday June 14, 2009 at the Ivy Hill Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Eli Burton. Burial will be in the Penland Cemetery. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family may call from 6 to 9 P.M. Saturday June 13, 2009. The family is at home on Old Screamer Street, Clayton.
