John Dean Hooper 49, Mt. City


John Dean Hooper, 49, of Mt City, died Tuesday March 13, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born in Rabun County he was a son of the Late Boyd C. and Martha Ledbetter Hooper. He was self employed in the residential construction industry. He was a former member of the Rabun Home Builders Association. He was of the Baptist faith.
Dean enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, watching football and NASCAR racing. But most of all spending time with his family.
Survivors include two sons, Ryan and Eric and two daughters, Eden and Jennifer; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Chuck Hooper and Brenda of Mt. City, Jim Hooper and Brenda of Tiger, Clark Hooper of Clayton, Tim Hooper and Dovie of Tiger, Greg Hooper and Brenda of Rabun Gap; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Angela and Rev. Tim Hunnicutt of Mt. City, and Marla Hooper of Clayton; two grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be 2 PM Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Hunter Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Hunnicutt and Rev. Glenville Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in the Roane Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 PM until 9 PM Thursday, March 15, 2012.
The family is at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Rev. Tim Hunnicutt, on Hunnicutt Drive, Mt. City.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
