John Gibson

John Grady Gibson, 76, of Hartwell, GA, died Sunday, July 14, 2019 in an Athens, GA hospital.

Born in Rabun County, January 23, 1943, he was the son of the late John Gurley Gibson and Mary Magdalene Ramey Gibson. He was a heavy equipment operator and has retired from the Rabun County Road Department. He was a Baptist by faith.

Grady is survived by his wife, Zelda Blackwell Gibson of Toccoa, GA and by three brothers, Frank Gibson, Lucky Gibson and John Grady Gibson, Jr., all of Hartwell, GA, two sisters, Alice Marie Key of Robbinsville, NC and Dessie Gibson of Rabun Gap, GA. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am Friday, July 19, 2019 in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home .Burial will be in Pickett Cemetery.

Visitation will be in Hunter Funeral Home Thursday evening July 18, 2019 from 6:00pm -to 8:00pm.
The family is at their respective residences.
