Jimmy Allen Nix, 73, Scaly Mountain, North Carolina


Jimmy Allen Nix, 73 of Scaly Mountain, North Carolina, died Tuesday April 12, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Macon County, North Carolina November 9, 1937 he was the son of the late George W. and Lillie Billingsley Nix. He owned and operated a Nursery, growing various shrubs and Plants, for many years. He was a U.S. army veteran and was a member of the Scaly Mountain Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons; Travis Nix of Scaly Mountain, NC., and Jeffery Nix of Dillard, GA., one daughter, Pamela D. Simon of Tampa, FL. Two brothers; Harold Nix of Dillard, GA., and Earl Nix of Scaly, Mountain, NC. Three sisters; Awa Smith and Mary Jane Kennedy of Demorest, GA., and Pearl Brown of Carnesville, GA. Five grandchildren and one great grand child.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Lanich and Mildred Hollifield.
Funeral Services will be at Battle Branch Baptist Church Friday April 15, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. conducted by Rev. Madison McCrackin, with burial in the Nix Family Cemetery in Scaly Mountain, NC.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and the family is at the home on Nix Road, Scaly Mountain, NC. The body will be taken to the Battle Branch Baptist Church at 10:00 A.M. Friday where family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at 11:00 A.M.
