Jim Brown, 76, of Highway 76 West, Clayton, Georgia., died Sunday June 24, 2012 in Mountain View Health Center, Clayton, Georgia.
Born in Macon County, North Carolina, May 17, 1936, he was the son of the late Lee and Dawn Chastain Brown. He had lived most of his life in Rabun County.
Mr. Brown was a landscaper.He was also a farmer and worked in the Carpentry industry for a long time. He attended the Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lawton Brown and two brothers, Harvey Brown and Carl Brown; by three sisters; Oma Blalock, Marie Head and Elma Billingsley and is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Brown of the home. Three daughters, Marie Gillespie and husband (Larry) of Clayton, Bea Brown Anderson and husband Murray of Woodstock, GA and Karen Brown of Clayton. One daughter- in- law, Charlene Brown of Carnesville, GA. Two sisters, Allene Hollifield of Clayton and Ollie Dryman of Winston Salem, NC., Three grandchildren, Heather Gillespie, Ansley Anderson and Carl Brown.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday June 26, 2012 at the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Watts officiating. Burial will be in the Scaly Mountain Methodist Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 To 8 P.M. The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Larry Gillespie on Kingwood Drive Clayton.
Hunter Funeral Home is in Charge of arrangements.
