Jesse F. Shirley, 81, of Wiley, Ga. Died Thursday September 3, 2009 at his home.
Born in Rabun County, Georgia. June 2, 1928, he was the son of the late Ralph and Amanda Jane Taylor Shirley. He was the husband of the late Jean Hipps Shirley. He was employed at Rabun Mills and Burlington Industries for 28 years and was a member of the Wiley Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by a son Ralph, by three brothers; Roy, Ray and Curtis Shirley and by three sisters; Dora Coley, Laura Philyaw and Lilly Loudermilk and is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Tommy and Sharron Shirley of Phenix City, Al, Ricky and Michelle Shirley of Rabun Gap, Ga., one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Davis Cosey of Perry, Ga., three sisters; Ruth Gipson, of Lakemont, Ga., Rozelle Scott of Lodi, Ohio, and Maybell Lang of Seattle, Wa. , four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00P.M. Sunday September 6, 2009 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. John Gipson and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Rabun Memory Park. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday September 5, 2009. The family is at home on Ramey Rd, Wiley, Ga.
