Rev. Jeff Tyler 72, Tiger, Ga.


Rev. James Jefferson Tyler, 72, of Tomahawk Lane, Tiger, Ga., better known to his family and friends as Jeff., died Saturday evening December 19, 2009 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, Ga.
Born in Rabun County, Ga. Jan.7, 1937, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Savannah Moore Tyler. He was a Baptist Minister and had served as Pastor of Carvers Chapel Baptist Church, but has served as an Evangelist for many years. He was a truck driver and was a member of the Carvers Chapel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gibson Tyler of the home, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ray and Pam Tyler and Johnny Tyler of Clayton, two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine and Mike Norris of Clayton, and Mechell and E.J. Wall of Tiger, One brother, Tommy Tyler of Clayton, Five sisters, Frances Green of Dillard, Ga., Edith Ramey of Clarkesville, Ga., Carolyn Denton of Cornelia, Ga. twin sisters, Teresa Moore of Swainsboro, Ga. and Terry Tyler of Toccoa, Ga. Fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Carvers Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Webb and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Mountain Cemetery in Tallulah Falls, Ga.
The body is at the Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday Dec. 21, 2009.
