J.D. Chapman, 91, of Villa Rica, Ga. Died Saturday June 13, 2009 in Douglasville,Ga
Born in Meriweather County, Georgia, April 25,1918 he was the son of the late David W. Chapman and Nannie Lacy Chapman. He had spent the greater part of his life in Atlanta and had spent several years in Rabun County. He was a retired security officer, a US Navy Veteran of WW2 and a member of the American Legion and also the CCC’S. He was a Baptist by Faith.
He was the widower of Margaret Snyder Chapman and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Naneen Chapman. Surviving are three grandchildren, Diane Parks and Mark Chapman of Villa Rica, Ga. and Matthew Chapman of Jonesboro, Ga. and Nine great grandchildren two sisters, Hilda Mitchell and Patsy Chapman, both of Manchester, Ga.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday June 16, 2009 at 2:00 P.M at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home by Rev. Mickey Woods. Rev. Cranford Carnes will conduct the graveside service. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Monday June 15,2009 from 6 to 8 P.M. The Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery with Military rites by DAV Chapter 15 of Rabun County. The family is at their respective residences.
