James Kenneth Watkins, 74, Ellenwood, GA
James Kenneth Watkins, 74, of Ellenwood, GA., Saturday January 8, 2011 at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia.
Born in Bristol, Virginia June 21, 1936 he was the son of Thelma Whistele Watkins (Durbin) of Sugarland, Texas, and the late Otto Watkins. He was a carpenter in the construction industry, a U.S. army veteran and a member of the American Legion post 0147. He was a member of the True Gospel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Emogene Moore Watkins, of the home, two sons, Tony Watkins of Griffin, GA., and David Watkins of Jonesboro, GA., three daughters, Diane wright of Dallas, GA., Patricia Watkins and Jeannie Mason both of Ellenwood, GA., mother, Thelma Durban of Sugarland, TX., two sisters, Anne and Alice of Sugar land, TX., seven grandchildren, six step grandchildern and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday January 14, 2011 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. George Holcomb, Rev. Frank Penley and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will be in the Roane Cemetery, Clayton, GA.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday January 13, 2011.
