James Stephens

James Andrew Stephens, 73, of Sidetrack Lane, Tiger, Georgia., died Tuesday October 4, 2016 at his home.

Born in Rabun County March 13, 1943, he was the son of the late John Hines Stephens and Mary Catherine Watts Stephens. He was the husband of Lurlene Wilbanks Stephens of the home. Mr. Stephens was a retired Insulator with National Asbestos Works Company. He belongs to his 48 National Asbestos Union and was a member of the Joy Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Hines Stephens., and by a great grandson and is survived by his wife, Lurlene Wilbanks Stephens of the home., by two daughters, Janice Pruitt (Robert) of Tiger, GA., Tammy Fowler (Doug) of Winder, Georgia. Five grandchildren, Anthony Patterson, Elizabeth Pruitt, Gregory Pruitt, Kimberly Pruitt and Charlie Mayfield. Elven great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home Friday October 7, 2016 conducted by Rev. Richard Dugas. Burial will be in the Wiley Presbyterian Cemetery.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home, where visitation will be in the Eastside Chapel Thursday October 6, 2016 from 6 to 8 P.M. The family is at home on Sidetrack Lane, Tiger, Georgia.
