James Remington (Shotgun) Stancil, 45, of Lakemont, GA, passed away Thursday June 7, 2018 at Mountain Lakes Medical Center.
Born March 3, 1973, he was the son of Doris Holbrook Welch and the late Jesse Hugh Stancil. He was a self employed heave equipment operator and was of the baptist faith.
James was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Hugh Stancil. He is survived by his mother, Doris Holbrook Welch of Lakemont, GA, a son Brandon Stancil of Lakemont, GA, two daughters, Brook Davis (Jamie) of Dahlongea, GA, and Elizabeth Hill of Clayton, GA, two brothers, Tim Welch of North Carolina and Tony Welch of Lakemont, GA, and by two sisters, Anita Welch of Tiger, GA, and Teresa Edmonds of Clayton, GA. Six grandchildren also survive.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where visitation will be Sunday June 10, 2018 from 12:00noon to 2:00pm (the funeral hour). Funeral services will be at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, Sunday June 10, 2018 at 2:00pm with Rev. Mickey Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Rabun Memory Park in Tiger, GA.
The family is at the home of his sister, Teresa Edmonds, on Seed Tick Rd. in Clayton, GA.
