James Calvin (Porky) Queen 58, Mountain City
James Calvin (Porky) Queen, 58, of Mt. City, Georgia died Monday night, June 13, 2011 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
He was the husband of Robin Jones Queen. Born in Rabun County March 27, 1953, he was the son of the late Paul Jackson Queen, Sr. and Leona Redden Queen. He was employed in the textile industry with Hanes Mfg. Company for a number of years. He was a member of the Clayton Church of God, and loved golfing, fishing and camping and loved his church and his family.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Paul Queen, Jr. and Chester Queen and by one sister, Vassie Worley, and is survived by his wife, Robin Jones Queen of the home. Two brothers, Hudson Queen and Charles Queen of Mt. City, Georgia. Five sisters Patsy O’Shields of New York, Katherine Kilby of Mt. City, Georgia, Barbara Taylor of Rabun Gap, Georgia, Martha Lee of Delton, Alabama and Wanetta Queen of Clayton, Georgia. Several nephews, nieces, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday June 16, 2011 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Alexander and Tony Kemp officiating, with Layman Lloyd Hunter conducting graveside services. Burial will be in the Blue Heights cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 9 PM Wednesday evening June 15, 2011.
The family is at the home on Southwind Lane in Mt. City.
