James Milton Houck, 87, of Clayton, Georgia, died Friday October 25, 2013 at Mountain View Health Care in Clayton.
Born in Rabun County, Georgia., October 1, 1926 he was the son of the late John W. and Maude Wilbanks Houck. He was the widower of Dorothy Boyle Houck who died in 1997. He was retired from General Motors as Group Leader of Receiving in the Steel Department of Truck and Coach of General Motors in Pontiac, Michigan. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion, Post 220 of Clayton, and a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church of the Warwoman Community.
Mr. Houck was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Gravley and by a brother, Jeff Houck and by a step daughter, Joyce Bucsko., and is survived by three brothers, Harold W. Houck, Hubert Houck and Roy Houck, all of Clayton. By two sisters; Ruth Shirley of Hartwell, GA., and Edna Warren of Loganville, GA. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 6:00 P.M. Sunday October 27, 2013 at the new Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home conducted by Layman Lloyd Hunter.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the chapel Sunday October 27, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. (The Funeral Hour). The body will be taken to Troy, Michigan for Burial beside his wife, Dorothy, at White Chapel Cemetery Tuesday October 29, 2013 2:00 P.M. Flowers are acceptable and family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made, in his memory, to Antioch United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 387 Tiger, GA. 30576.
