James R. Colvin 59, Clayton, GA


James R. Colvin, 59, of Roanoke, Virginia., died Thursday June 30, 2011, at his home in Roanoke, Virginia.
Born in Washington County, Pennsylvania, April 8, 1952 He was the son of the late Frank R. and Margot Leonard Colvin. He was a parts manager in the automobile racing industry. He served in the U.S. Marine Reserves and he was a Protestant.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Thomas Gregg Colvin, and is survived by a son, James R. Colvin, Jr. of Roanoke, Virginia and by a daughter, Jenny Moore of Roanoke, Virginia; his stepmother Gayla Smith Colvin of Lakemont, Georgia. A brother, Julien Colvin of Spring Hill, Florida. A sister, Evelyn Colvin Montgomery of Wildwood, Florida and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday July 2, 2011 at the Flat Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Rogers officiating, with burial to follow in the Flat Creek Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be taken to the Flat Creek Baptist Church Saturday July 2, 2011, where family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. with the service to follow at 2:00 P.M.
