James Lester “Jim” Carpenter, 66, of Tiger, Georgia., died Tuesday June 17, 2014 at the home of his sister, Dot Webb on Syrup City Road, Tiger, Georgia.
He was born June 23, 1947 in Rabun County to Fred Lester Carpenter and Doris Mason Carpenter. He was employed by Burlington Industries and Fruit of the Loom and retired from Home Depot. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was a member of the Wiley Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Lester Carpenter and by a sister Marie Carter and is survived by his wife, Paulette Murray Carpenter of the home, by his mother, Doris Mason Carpenter of Tiger; by a son, Robert Lee Carpenter of Tiger, by a brother, Thurmon Carpenter of Clarkesville, GA., by a sister, Dorothy Webb of Tiger, by his” favorite” mother-in-law, Elizabeth Murray of Tiger. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Graveside Services will be at Rabun Memory Park Tiger, Georgia., Saturday June 21, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Adam Wright and Rev. Terry Carver officiating.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 5 to 9 P.M. Friday June 20, 2014. The family is at the home of his sister, Dot Webb on Syrup City Road, Tiger, Georgia. The family asks in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made, in his memory, to Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund P.O. Box 485 Rabun Gap, GA. 30568 or favorite local charities
