James Allen Beck 72, Decatur, GA


James Allen Beck, 72, of Decatur husband of Barbara Richards Beck died Friday February 1, 2008 at his home in Lakemont.
Born in Rabun County July 27, 1935 he was a son of the late Noah J. and Delphia Smith Beck he was a retired employee of General Motors and Owner Operator of DeKalb Marine, he was a member of the Antique Outboard Motor Club, The Salkehatchie Sportsman Club, the American Power Boat Association, and he was member of the Harmony Grove Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; Barbara Richards Beck of the home, two sons; James A. Beck and wife Heather of Cumming, GA, Bryan Beck and wife Leslie of Suwanee four grandchildren; Stephanie, Olivia, Noah, and Rachel Beck. one brother; Stuartt Beck of Clayton, a half sister; Helen Hart of Chatsworth, GA, several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by a grandson and a half sister.
Funeral services will be held Sunday February 3, 2008 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Cannon and the Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the Wolf Creek Baptist Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Saturday February 2, 2008. The family will be at their respective residences.
