James Michael Andrews, age 40, of Clayton, GA, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
James was born on May 5, 1984, to Howard Grady Andrews and the late Shirley Burrell Andrews. He was best known for his 12-year career at Ingles, where he left a lasting impression on countless customers and coworkers with his warm personality and dedication. James had a deep passion for competing in the Special Olympics, where he earned numerous gold medals and eagerly anticipated the annual state competitions and trips to Emory. Outside of work and the Special Olympics, James enjoyed participating in bowling tournaments with Judy Marshall and was a dedicated member of Church of the Mountains.
He is survived by his father, Howard Grady Andrews; his brother, Marvin Kilby; his sisters, Rebecca Kilby and Kimberly Andrews; his uncles, Jim Andrews (Sarah Johnson) and Kirby Murphy; his nieces and nephews, Danielle Kilby, Corey Kilby, Grayce Kilby, Carl Kilby, and Adrean Wooten; several cousins, including Kristie Holland, Christian Andrews, Bella Andrews, and Lana Burrell; and a special friends, William Wall, and Mark and Rhonda Lancaster who was his sponsor for Special Olympics and they also enjoyed taking him hunting and fishing.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home with Pastor Adam Wright officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
