Jacqueline Darnell

Jacqueline Ann Darnell, 75, of Brye’s Place Lane Rabun Gap, GA., died Thursday June 13, 2013 in Emory University Hospital after an extended illness.

Born in Rabun County May 24, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Brye Leman Darnell, Sr., and Hulda Pauline Norton Darnell. She was retired as a clerk in the insurance industry and was a member of the Betty’s Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death, besides her parents, a brother, Ross Darnell and sisters, Katherine Hyatt and Floss Sitton and by an infant sister, Sarah Ann Darnell and is survived by a brother, Brye “Bud” Darnell, Jr., (Joyce) of Cumming, GA. two sisters, Joyce Thompson (Steve) of Rabun Gap, and Lillian Smith (Jack) of Lakemont. Four nieces: Gail Smith Hopper, Cami Garner Hopper, Tina Smith Johnson, and Paula Hyatt Martin; a nephew, Van Garner, Jr., two grand nieces and two grand nephews.

Funeral Services will be Sunday June 16, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hunter Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Conner and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will be in the Wesley Cemetery, Rabun Gap, GA.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday June 15, 2013 and from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. (the funeral hour) Sunday June 16, 2013.The family is at their respective residences.
