Jacob Sherard Dickerson shocked the world one last time when he passed on to the next life on
September 7th , 2023 to the tragic dismay of countless touched hearts. God had outdone himself
29 years ago when he bore the undoubtedly beloved son Jacob to Billy and Sherry Dickerson on
March 16th , 1994 in Toccoa Georgia. Younger brother to his most treasured kin Hayden
Dickerson. Brother by heart to Roger and Calvin Whitmire. Most passionate, kind, and dedicated
husband to Tiara Dickerson. Best friend to the men he was most in sync with Skylar Inslee and
Gilbert Fountain. Master to his soul bonded dogs Kitty and Gatllyn. And most notably an
unwavering follower of Jesus Christ.
Raised in Rabun County Georgia by his most cherished role models, Jacob credited his
ability to love unconditionally to his mother and his immense knowledge of what’s important in
life to his father. His brother was the calm to his wild which concocted an impeccable
brotherhood to compliment his upbringing. He could either be found relaxing with a chicken on
his shoulder or doing something likely dangerous that he survived with only a few broken bones
and an uncountable number of laughs. When Jacob spoke of his childhood, there were no
resentments only fond memories.
Jacob showed nothing short of pure passion for anyone and anything he cared for in this
world. And if he had any of your heart, you could be certain it would never break in his hands.
He expressed love through instigating and motivating, often immediately seeing full potential in
people that could not see it for themselves. Jacob would always rough the storm with you. He
never left you alone to get through life’s trials. He loved to push life to the limits and bring you
along in that journey. His solid faith in God propelled him to never get caught up in the
insignificant parts of this place. Jacob’s greatest gift was his drive to do anything to get others to
laugh and be light hearted. Followed by his astounding ability to always tell the truth. You never
had to wonder what Jacob thought about something. Even his dogs, who stayed glued to his side,
knew he was not like the rest of us. Jacob had a fine-tuned ear for the best music and would
dance anywhere he saw fit. Jacob obsessed over anything that had wheels. You could be sure that
if it had an engine, Jacob pushed that engine to its max with pure joy. His most prized engine
being his dirt bike. He was constantly drawn to God’s beautiful scenery. If you spent time with
Jacob, chances were high that he shared at least one breath taking view with you
Jacob was a nontraditional man whom only desired an intimate memorial with his closest
loved ones. He then asked for his ashes to be spread on his parents’ mountain top where Gatllyn
had been laid to rest and where his parents will one day be laid to rest. Jacob’s family is grateful
for all the care and support everyone has shown during this tragic time. Please, in true Jacob
fashion, fully celebrate this unique life and love every chance you get.
Jacob heartbreakingly predeceased his parents Billy and Sherry Dickerson, his wife Tiara
Dickerson, his brother and sister-in-law Hayden and Brandi Dickerson, his Grandparents Joe and
Sherrill Sheffield, his aunts Jolynne Sutton, Carol Cragg and Robin Phillips, his uncles Johnny
Sutton and Dale Cragg, his cousins JD, Jessie, Kristin, Alli Brooke, Cali, and Caleb and last, but
never least his dog Kitty.
Jacob was always an eccentric human craving all things saturated with soul and repelled
anything superficial in this world. Jacob never let the world tell him who he was supposed to be.
Therefore, he led a full life with minimal regrets. God could wait no longer to release his soul
from the pains of this world so he could be wild and free, Jacob’s two most sought-after goals.
