Jack Richards, 72, of Tiger, GA, unexpectedly fell asleep in death Saturday, February 27, 2010, in Greenville Memorial Medical Center, SC, surrounded by his beloved wife and family.
He was born February 5, 1938, to Carl and Ruth Richards of Brundidge, AL. they preceded him in death, as did 2 brothers and a sister. He is survived by his brother, Sammy Richards, of Headland, AL, and his sisters Odessa Nolin, Phenix City, AL, and Dorothy Stewart, of Enterprise, AL.
He married the love of his life Jeanette Moore on July 10, 1965, and had 3 daughters whom he had doted on. He had worked as an aircraft Mechanic for 43 years at Ft. Rucker, AL, before retiring in 1999. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 11, 2009, and held strong faith in the hope of a resurrection to everlasting life held out to us in God’s word the Bible (Acts 24:15), the beautiful promise of a paradise earth (Psalms 37:10, 11,29) described touchingly in Revelation 21:4, “…he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Richards, of Tiger, GA; his daughter, Michelle Chervoni, her sons Joshua, Jeremy, R.J., and Zachary, and husband Ramon Chervoni, all of Enterprise, AL; his daughter, Carole O’Connor, her children Jason, Caitlin, and Sammy, and husband Steven O’Connor, all of Panama City, Florida; and his daughter, Suzanna Richards, of Mountain City, GA.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 176 Shepherd St., Mountain City, GA.
