Ivan Bower

Ivan Dale Bower, 80, of Clayton, Ga. died Wednesday Dec. 30, 2015 in Mtn. View Health Care in Clayton.

Born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania April 12, 1935, He was the son of the late Earl Guy Bower and Florence Bogue Bower. He was a machinist by trade and a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Coulter Road Baptist Church in Coulter, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his first wife , Sandra Mcnabb Bower , his parents, and five brothers, Seth Bower , Carl Bower , David Bower, Fred Bower, Donald Bower and is survived by his wife , Inez Gordon Bower of the home, two sons , Billy Bower ( Nancy) of Greer, S.C. , Robert Bower (Jena) of Travelers Rest , S.C. , one daughter , Donna Emel (Mark) of Eden, N.Y., one brother James Bower (Jean) of Madison , Pa. Six grandchildren, Amanda Fendley (John) , Amy Martinez (Rene) , Ashlee Bower, Rebecca , Katie and John Mark Emel. Several nephews, nieces , brothers – in – law , sisters – in – law also survive.

The body is at Hunter funeral home , where visitation will be Thursday afternoon Dec.31, 2015 from 4:00 to 5:00 P.M.

The body will be taken to Irwin, Pennsylvania for graveside services and burial in Mars hill baptist church cemetery, early first week of January 2016.
