Irene T. Hay

Irene T. Hay, 97, of Clarkesville, Georgia., went home to live forever with her Lord, Tuesday morning September 8, 2015., in Hayesville, North Carolina.

Born in College Mound , Missouri., May 3, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Magdalena Lempe Thomas. She was the widow of James W. Hay. She, for a number of years, served as church secretary for Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church in East Point, Georgia., and also in the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Carrollton, Georgia. She taught girls Sunday school for a number of years, and touched the lives of many others in her service to the Lord. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and a member of the Grace Green Prayer Group in Clayton.

“Miss “Irene is survived by one daughter, Judy McClanahan (Larry) of Clarkesville, GA., one son, Robert T. Coker (Jama) of Russellville, TN., one sister, Bernice Thomas Quertermous of Little Rock Arkansas. Eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren also survive.

A funeral service will be at Liberty Baptist Church, Tiger, Georgia., Saturday September 12, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. Officiated by Pastor Scott Cates.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be taken to the Liberty Baptist Church Saturday at 12:00 P.M. where visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. (The Funeral Hour). Burial will be in the Roopville Cemetery in Roopville, Georgia., near Carrollton, GA. At 1:00 P.M. Sunday September 13, 2015.

The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Larry McClanahan, Clarkesville, GA. Contributions in her memory may be sent to Liberty Baptist Church (For Bevevelovence Fund) 2206 Bridge Creek Road Tiger, GA. 30576
