Imogene Hamilton English, 80, of the Persimmon community, Clayton, GA., died Wednesday November 11, 2015 at her home.
Born in Rabun County June 18, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Milford and Deffie Runion Hamilton. She was the widow of Coyt English and was the last member of her immediate family.
Imogene was a homemaker and was employed as a supervisor in the Ninth District food and food stamp program. She was a Baptist by faith.
Besides her husband and parents , she was preceded in death by four brothers and is survived by two sons , Mike English (Mary) of Clayton, Ga. and Gary M. English of Clayton,Ga., four grandchildren , Shandy Whitmire, Preston English , Gary English Jr. and Nathan English, Five great grandchildren Ethan, Alexis, Jillian, Joseph Coyt and Illagene. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be Friday Nov.13,2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Persimmon Baptist Church by Rev. Richard Wright . Burial will be in the Timpson Presbyterian Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and visitation will be Thursday evening Nov.12, 2015 from 6 to 8 P.M.
The body will be placed in the church at 12:00 noon to lie in state.
The family is at the home on Persimmon road, Clayton, Georgia.
