Ida Garland

Ida Mae Wall Garland, 95,“Affectionately know as Mamaw” died Tuesday July 30, 2019 at her home in Mountain City, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Earl Garland.

Born in Rabun County Georgia., September 15, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Dave Wall and Betty Giles Wall. She was a seamstress for Claybourne M.F.G. and she was a member of the Blue Heights Baptist Church. She was the last member of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Garland and parents Dave and Betty Giles Wall, by three sons, Woodrow Dee Garland , Ronny Garland and Michael Garland,by three grandchildren, Angel Sutton,Timothy Sutton and Byron Taylor by four brothers, W.D. Wall, Lester Wall, Ellison Wall and Hilton Wall and two sisters, Jessy Faye Wall Justus and Frazier Wall Allgary and is survived by one son, Robert E. Garland, Jr., (Opal) of Mt City , GA., three daughters, Barbara Taylor (Doyle) of Dalton, GA., Carolyn Sutton (Tommy) of Mt. City, GA., Betty Thomas (Don) of Greenville, SC.and a Daughter in law Linda Garland Clayton Gerrgia. Fifteen grandchildren thirty three great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren and several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

Funeral Services will be Friday August 2, 2019 2:00 P.M. at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in the Wolffork Baptist Cemetery in the Rabun Gap Community.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where the family will receive friends at the Eastside Chapel Friday August 2, 2019 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. (The service Hour). The family is at the home in Mountain City. Georgia.
