Hoke Simmons, 73, of Parker Robinson Lane, Mtn. City, GA. Died Saturday evening, May 15, 2010 in Mtn. Lakes Medical Center.
Born in Rabun County, GA. April 20, 1937 He was the son of the late Earl Carlton Simmons, Sr. and Ruby Welborn Simmons. He was a ranger with the Georgia Game and Fish Department and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by two daughters; Kathy Simmons and Hope Renee’ Simmons. He is survived by three sons; Todd Simmons and Shane Simmons of Clayton, GA., Scott Simmons of Mtn. City, GA. One brother, Earl Carlton Simmons, Jr. of Tiger, GA. Seven grandchildren; Jeff Simmons, Levi Shaffer, Alexander Simmons, Dakota Kay Simmons, Christopher Scott Simmons, Samantha Michelle Simmons and Calvin Simmons. Three Great Grand Children; Abby Gail Simmons, Herbert Shawn Shaffer, and Katherine Lashay Shaffer also survive.
The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held graveside at Rabun Memory Park on Tuesday May 25, 2010 at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Joe Nichols officiating.
The family will be at the home of his son, Todd Simmons on 61 Shiloh Lane, Clayton, GA. on Tuesday May 25, 2010.
