Herman L.(Dick) Gray 79, Clayton , Ga.


Herman Louis Gray (Known by everyone as “Dick”) , 79 , of Clayton , Georgia died Thursday Feb. 19 , 2009 at his residence .
Dick was born in Jonesborough , Tennessee , February 10 , 1930 and was the son of the late Jonah F. Gray and Martha Daniels Gray , both him and his wife Barbara lived in Tennessee and Florida before moving to Rabun County in 1975, where he loved the area and its people and decided to call it home. Dick and his wife owned and operated the Lake Rabun Hotel for 14 yrs. Lived in Lakemont all the years until they moved to Clayton in 2007 , he worked at Wal-Mart in Cornelia Store for 10 yrs. He was a member of the Tallulah Falls Methodist Church for 19 yrs.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers ; Ira J. Gray and Floyd L. Gray and is survived by his wife Barbara A. Gray of the home , four sons and daughter-in-laws , W. Kirk Gray and his wife Nancy of Riverview , Florida , Kyle L. Gray and wife Dianna , Tampa , Florida , Douglas Pippin and his wife Rhonda , Greenwood , South Carolina , Craig Pippin and wife , Cindy , Lawrenceville , Ga. One sister , Cleo Woodward of Rogersville , Tenn. And one brother , Jonah F. Gray Jr. and his wife , Netha of Simpsonville , South Carolina., Eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews, cousins whom he loved very much also survive .
The body has been cremated and a Memorial Service will be held at the Tallulah Falls Methodist Church on March 7 , 2009 at 11 A.M. with the Rev. James Turpen officiating .
In lieu of flowers donations are to be made to the Tallulah Falls Methodist Church Building Fund PO BOX 100 Tallulah Falls , Ga. 30573. or a memorial fund has been established for for H.L. ( Dick ) Gray at the Community Bank and Trust P.O Box 1826 , Clayton , Ga. 30525.
