Henry C. Nichols , 89 , of Clayton , Ga. died Sunday November 30 , 2008 in Mountain Lakes Medical Center .
Born in Rabun County , April 27 , 1919 , He was the son of the late Emory and Laura Coffee Nichols . He was a Carpenter by trade and a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII , and was a member of the Coon Hunters Club and was a member of the Persimmon Baptist Church .
He was preceded in death by his wife , Merrill Crone Nichols ; two daughters , Claudia Buchannan and Emily Nichols , and by a son-in-law , Walter Buchannan and also by a great granddaughter , Merideth Nichols .
Surviving are one son and daughter-in- law , Phillip and Swannie Nichols of Clayton ; two daughters and a son – in - law , Phyllis and Guy Gragg , Theda Carpenter , both of Clayton , Eleven grandchildren , Fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grand child .
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday December 3 , 2008 at the Persimmon Baptist Church with Rev. Waymond Lunsford officiating , Rev. J.C. Quilliams will conduct Graveside Services with burial in the Persimmon Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be taken to the Persimmon Baptist Church Tuesday December 2 , 2008 where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M.
The family is at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Guy Gragg on Hwy 76 West , Clayton , Ga.
