Helen Marie Hopper Donaldson, 90, of Clayton, died Sunday February 21, 2010 in North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born in Rabun Gap, Georgia. November 5, 1919, she was the daughter of the late James Bascomb Hopper and Fronie Viola Jones Hopper. She was the widow of James Nesbon Donaldson.
She was a retiree from Burlington Industries after 30 years service, and a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and preserving her gardening results. She was a Baptist by Faith.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Kelly Hopper and by two sisters; Mary Cathy and Ruth Scott, and is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James D. and Rose Donaldson of Marietta, Ga., and by one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy D. and David Winstead of Clayton. One sister; Pauline Hopper of Colonial Heights, Va. Three grandchildren and their spouses, Felicia M. and John Smith of Fair Play, SC., Lorie D. and Rick Hornsby of Marietta, Ga. Julie D. and Dr. Mark Moore of Braselton, Ga. Six great grandchildren; Bradford and Breanna Smith, Chandler and Kelsey Moore, and Cole and Sam Hornsby. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday February 24, 2010 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmie Kilby and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Rabun Memory Park.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 9 P.M. Tuesday February 23, 2010. The family is at home on Wayah Trail, Clayton.
Family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Battle Branch Baptist Church, 1769 Warwoman Rd, Clayton, Ga. 30525
