Harry “Dean” Queen, 62, of Mountain City Georgia died Thursday September 5, 2013 in VA Medical Center in Asheville, North Carolina.
Born in Rabun County, August 14, 1951, he was the son of the late Claude and Gladys Holcomb Queen. Dean was a rock mason in the construction industry and was a US. Army Veteran of Vietnam, and was commander of the V.F.W. Post in Rabun County. He was a member of the Blue Heights Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; Bob Queen, T.J. Queen and Jim Queen and is survived by one son, Isaac Jefferson Queen (Cova) Helen, GA., one daughter, Keisha Queen Woodard (Shane) Tiger, GA. Four brothers; George Queen, of Charlotte, NC., Allen Queen of Mt. City, GA., Calvin Queen of Franklin, NC., Keith Queen of Lockhart, SC; three sisters; Virginia Norton of Otto, NC., Annette Dockins of Marietta, SC., and Barbara Roberts of Murphy, NC. Two grandchildren, Cheyenne Lynn Queen and Gisele Ann Queen.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Sunday September 8, 2013. Cremation will follow the visitation. The family will be at the home of his sister, Virginia Norton, Sunday September 8, 2013.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made, in his memory, to Hunter Funeral Home, P.O. Box 653 Clayton, GA. 30525 to aid in funeral expenses.
