Harry Jones

Harry Lee "Red" Jones, 74, of Clayton, GA passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.

Born March 2, 1944, he was the son of the late Thomas Jones and Nora Chastain. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Rabun County Road Department and was a member of the Clayton Church of God.

In addition to his parents, Thomas and Nora, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Jones, a son Richard L. Jones, two brothers, Crawford Jones, and Clyde Jones, and by three sisters, Marie Hurst, Jean Johnson, and Bertha Taylor.

He is survived by a son, Harris L. Jones, of Mountain City, GA, and a daughter Tammy Ramey of Clayton, GA. Two sisters also survive, Ann Shepherd of Franklin, NC, and Lucille Jones of Washington.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 11:00AM at Taylor's Chapel Church with Reverend Thomas Burrell officiating with burial to follow at Taylor's Chapel Cemetery in Rabun Gap, GA.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.

The family is at their respective residences.

Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
