Harry Engene Crane,81, of Number 10 Lane Clayton, Died Wednesday May 6, 2009 in Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens, GA, He was the widower of Grace Rogers Crane.
Born in Rabun County June 6,1927 he was the son of the late Dan and Lucy Butler Crane, SR. He was a heavy Equipment Operator in the Construction Industry. He was a US Army Veteran of Korea, a member of the American Legion Post 220 of Clayton, VFW and a member of National Rifleman’s Association and attended the Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dan Crane, JR and Billy Crane and by three sisters, Willie Patterson, Ola English and Nannie Sue Thompson, and is survived by one son, Dan L. Crane of Clayton, two daughters and sons in law, Teresa and Ronnie Smallwood of Commerce and Terry and Danny of Mize of Clayton. One sister, Bernice Crane Turner of Clayton. Four grandchildren, Daniel Mize, Nathaniel Cannon, Eli Smallwood and Zeke Smallwood and three great grand children. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday May 9, 2009 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev.Madison McCracken and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the Timpson Presbyterian Cemetery with Military honors.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday May 8, 2009. The family is at the home on Number 10 Lane, Clayton.
