Harrison Southards

Harrison “Toots” Southards, 88, of File Street Clayton, Georgia., died Sunday June 30, 2013 at his residence.

He was born in Smokemont, North Carolina., to the late James Henry (Dank) Southards and Alice Payne Southards. He was the widower of Ruth Fountain Southards. He was a merchant, US. Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the DAV. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was of the Baptist Faith.

He was the last member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by brothers; Bill Southards, Jesse Southards and Lawrence (Red) Southards and by sisters, Etta Trusty and Maggie Batson, and is survived by two sons, Larry Southards and (Elaine) of Clayton., and David Southards and (Sharon) of Michigan. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday July 3, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Gabe Southards officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Heights Cemetery.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Tuesday evening July 2, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M. The family is at their respective residences.
