Glenda Speed Talley

Glenda Speed Talley, age 75, of Clayton, GA, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on December 28, 1948, to the late Ray Speed and Lois Dotson Speed. Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, Golie Talley, and her son, Stacey Talley.

Glenda was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend to many. A faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church, she held her church family close to her heart and deeply valued her time spent in fellowship.

She is survived by her brothers, Allen Speed of Clayton, GA, and Dennis Speed (Kitty) of Clayton, GA; several nieces and nephews; a special cousin, Lamar Marcus; and dear friends and caregivers, Clara Nix, Kevin Nix, and Charles Reed and wife, Jean.

In addition to her husband, Golie Talley, and son, Stacey Talley, Glenda was also preceded in death by three siblings: Mary Bryson, Bobby Speed, and Diane Gragg.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church, with Rev. Zane Talley and Rev. Oliver Rice officiating. Interment will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Hunter Funeral Home.
