Glenda Youngblood Baker, 64, of Canton, NC, formerly of Rabun County, GA, died Thursday, September 27th, 2012 at her home in Canton.
Born in Rabun County, September 30th, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Vaughn and Christine Ramey Youngblood. She was a seamstress at the Clayburne Manufacturing Co. and was also the manager at the Dollar General Store. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Commanders Club and a member of Southern Appalachian Cloggers. She was a member of the Clayton Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Boyd Youngblood, and sister, Cheryl Youngblood. She is survived by her son, John Gibson of South Carolina, 2 daughters and sons in laws, Gail and Mitch Whitmire and Terry and Destry Smith of Clayton, GA. She is also survived by a brother, Ricky Youngblood of Clayton, GA and 4 sisters; Charlotte Welborn and Rita Johnson of Clayton, GA, Wendy Burton of Laurens, SC, and Bettina Yarbrough of Wiley, GA, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held Saturday, October 6th, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, conducted by Layman Lloyd Hunter.
The Family is at their respective residences.
