Gladys Sawyer Hooper, 85, of Dillard, widow of George W. (Shorty) Hooper died Tuesday March 24, 2009 at her residence.
Born December 23, 1923 in Graham County, North Carolina she was the daughter of the late Caswell and Bessie Guge Sawyer. She was a Homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was the last member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Payne.
She is survived by one son; Ricky Hooper of Dillard, Ga,. and by one daughter and a son-in-law: Diana H. and Allen Addis of Tiger, Ga. Six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday March 26, 2009 at 11 A.M. in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Dryman officiating. Burial will follow in the Rabun Memory Park.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday March 25 , 2009 at Hunter Funeral Home .
