Geraldine Brown

Geraldine Kathryn Talley Brown, age 90, of Dillard, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 4, 1934, in Scaly Mountain, NC, to the late L.W. Talley and Valeria Talley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Brown.

Geraldine dedicated much of her life to being a loving homemaker, caring for her family with devotion. She found great joy in tending to her flower beds and had a deep love for the Lord, cherishing the study of scripture. A devout Christian, she was a member of Mountain City Church of God and also attended Scaly Mountain Church of God. One of her greatest joys was singing with her husband in The Brown Family gospel group. Today, we find comfort in knowing that she is once again singing in Heaven, reunited with her loved ones.

She is survived by her sons, Dean Brown and Tommy Brown, both of Dillard, GA; grandchildren, Tonya Brewer, April Brown, Dean Brown II, Natasha Tyler, and Caleb Tyler; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Tyler, and five brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Scaly Mountain Church of God, with Rev. Harvey Conner and Rev. Donald Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Scaly Mountain Methodist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home.
