George Keener

George Earl Keener, 67, of Dud Creek Road, Clayton, GA died Tuesday May 21, 2013 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. Earl was the widower of Darlene Malcom Keener. Born in Rabun County November 1, 1945, he was the son of the late Robert and Drucie Keener. He was a contractor in the construction industry and was a member of the Chechero Baptist Church.

Earl was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and by a son, Freddie Wayne Keener, a brother, C.A. Keener and a sister, Mildred Keener Stancil. He is survived by two sons; Robert Earl Keener (Angela) of Clayton GA, Randall Eugene Keener (Julie) of Cornelia, GA, a brother David Keener (Holly) of Clayton, a sister Mary Ann Cooley (Bill) of Clayton, six grandchildren, several nephews and nieces and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday May 24, 2013 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Wilson and Rev. Frank Stancil Jr .officiating. Burial will be in the Price Cemetery in the Chechero Community. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Thursday night May 23, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM. The family is at the home of his brother, David Keener on Dud Creek Road in the Chechero Community, Clayton, GA.
