Genelia Speed Sherin, 66 of, Lithonia, GA formerly of Rabun County, GA, died Monday April 27, 2009 in St Joseph’s Hospital, Atlanta, GA. Born in Rabun County Aug 2, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Joe and Samantha Moore Speed. She was a homemaker and a member of the pleasant Hill Baptist church, and a member of Woodman of the World. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil Speed and Paul Speed and a sister, Dottie Mason, and she is survived by her husband, Lester Sherin of the home. And by three daughters Tammy Hogan of Walhalla, SC Terri Proctor of Hortense, GA. And Tanna Sherin of Westminster, SC two brothers, Hoyt Speed and Joe Speed of Clayton, GA. Six sisters Barbara Williams of Baldwin , GA Janie Richardson and Lucille Staton both of Mcdonough Georgia. Carrie Cummings and Belle Taylor both of Clayton. GA. Katherine Revis Alpharetta, GA. Three grandchildren Michael and Leslie Hogan of Walhalla , SC and Amber Teete of Alpharetta, GA., and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday April 30, 2009 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Page officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 until 9 pm Wednesday night April 29, 2009 The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 pm Thursday to lie in the state.
