Gayla Hunnicutt

June 29, 1939 — January 10, 2022

On June 29,1939 Gayla Burton was born. She later married Jack Hunnicutt. On January 10, 2022, Gayla Burton Hunnicutt left this life to join our Heavenly Father. She lived her whole life for the moment see would stand before the Throne of God. I know she heard the words, Well done my good and faithful servant. Gayla was a lifetime member of Clayton 1st Baptist church. Gayla was a prayer warrior for Rabun County, and she loved it. God gave her the gift
of prayer, I believe her prayers gave hope, peace and reassurance for those who needed comfort. Gayla organized the March for Jesus and participated in The Passion of Christ for 30 years. She took so much pride honoring our Lord and Savior. She leaves behind two daughters, Gwen H. Woods and Paige Hunnicutt. Four grandchildren Jesse Smith, Danyelle Smith, Alex Ruff, and Taylor Dotson. She has 7 great grandchildren. The grandchildren want to say they love their grandmother so very much. She has now become their Guardian Angle, Mama Gayla.

The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at at a later date. The family is at their respective residences.

Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
