Fred Turpin, Jr. 75, of the Warwoman Community Clayton, Georgia., died Thursday morning, November 6, 2014 at Mountain View Health Care.
Born December 25, 1938 in Rabun County, he was the son of the late Fred Turpin, Sr., and Rosa Beck Turpin. He was a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry and had served in law enforcement, both as a city policeman and in the Sheriff’s Department of Habersham County. He had lived most of his life in Rabun and Habersham Counties. He was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard, Martin, and Ray Turpin and is survived by two sons; Fred H. Turpin (Ginger) and Richard A. Turpin (Melissa) both of Clayton and by four grandchildren, Rosa Turpin, Michael Turpin, Ashley McCoy and Angeleah Turpin, and by five great grandchildren. Numerous nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday November 8, 2014 at the new Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home by Rev. Larry Cannon. Burial will follow at the Antioch Methodist Church Cemetery in the Warwoman Community.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday November 7, 2014. The family is at there respective residences.
